Mount Washington Observatory (MWOBS) – Mesonet

This is the Mount Washington Regional Mesonet - it is used to monitor environmental changes. If you click on one of the monitoring sites, you can use the drop down menus to compare data to other sites in the area and it will create a graph. You can compare wind speed, amount of snowfall, temperature and more!

This will be useful when you are doing your daily journal entry on changes!

Overview of Your Research Projects

Here's an overview of Investigating Germination and Seedling Growth. After clicking the link, scroll down until you find the Plants, Fungi and Protists folder - you want the Wonder of Seeds Student Information .pdf file. We will be reviewing this in class, but there is a lot of information to cover. Read through the information presented and write down any questions or possible research ideas that you have!

Planting Science Projects!

Dear 7B Scientists,

As your teams are setting up to start their research projects, make sure you have bookmarked the Planting Science website - http://www.plantingscience.org/index.php Each team will be setting up their own webpage to upload data and photos to!

You will want to consult with your mentors when you begin formulating research questions. They can help you narrow your focus to find a testable question. As you begin communicating with your scientist mentor, please be aware that they are not online to answer you immediately and it may take a day for them to get back to you.

I'm so excited to be working on this project with you! Make sure you write down any questions that you have to share with your team and your mentor!

Happy Researching!

Last year, the 6th, 7th and 8th grade students from Nottingham were part of a group of 1300 people who removed over 6000 pounds of litter from NH's coastline! Nottingham students ROCK!
