Transit of Venus, Sun-Earth Day 2012
Transit of Venus, Sun-Earth Day 2012: Watch this once in a life time event live on NASA's streaming webcast - filmed in Hawaii! This is the last transit of Venus that will occur in your lifetime! The next transit will occur in December of 2117! You can see Venus as it passes the sun! This rare alignment was how astronomers in the 17th century first measured the size of our solar system!
The transit should only be viewed (in real time) through a pin-hole camera to protect your eyes - they can be damaged by looking directly at the Sun!
