Luna Moth
One of the students found this caterpillar outside at recess today. After viewing multiple images of green caterpillars that can be found in NH, we decided that "Charlie" is a Luna Moth Caterpillar! Interestingly enough, in researching, we found that Luna Moths lay their eggs on the underside of Black Walnut leaves. Last spring, as part of our Nottingham Past, Future and Present theme, students took home and planted hundreds of black walnut trees!
